Technical problem [Jul. 24th, 2006|03:01 pm]
My father took his wonderful digital camera to Canada earlier this year and wants to capture still images from some of the movies he took.

Any ideas? He's tried playing it through media player and using print screen, but he says that results in a black box in the media player on the pasted version...

PC Video Editing Question [Feb. 17th, 2005|08:35 am]
[mood | tired]

Does anyone know of software that will allow you to capture parts of a DVD and turn them into MPG files? I'm looking to make a compilation of music vids and live performances of my fave stuff and rather than download sub quality vids from the net would like to capture them myself from DVD.

Just to make it a little harder. I know I can get a video capture card and use an external DVD player but....I really just wanna use the internal DVD roms I have already.

Any ideas??

IT assistance if possible please [Feb. 2nd, 2005|10:44 am]
hey guys,

a bloke here at work has asked me why his MS Outlook has suddenly stopped sending attachments. He's been through the repair install procedure and all the settings within outlooks options. He's also checked his virus software and nothing seems to be set to hinder him sending them. It gets approx 70% of the way through sending then stops.

Any ideas?

Ta.

FOOTBALLER IN CHRISTMAS PARTY DISGRACE

A footballer was arrested and out on bail yesterday, and is due to appear before magistrates in Nottingham tomorrow, to face charges relating to an incident which took place at his clubs annual Christmas party on Monday. Paul Addington, a defender for the Coca-Cola League Division Two side Mansfield Town, was arrested for "lewd and threatening behaviour, criminal damage and assault" during the party, which took place at the Copthorne Hotel in Nottingham.

During the course of the evening, Addington, 29, is alleged to have become drunk, abusive and violent towards staff at the hotel, culminating in an unsavoury incident with an ornamental decorative reindeer and a prosthetic leg.

Hotel duty manager Alan Shaw said today: "It was disgusting behaviour and totally uncalled for. The evening was passing off very well with everyone in high spirits, but the gentleman concerned just took things too far. He made a pass at one of our waitresses, and when she didn't respond, he became abusive towards her."

Mr Shaw went on: "At this point, Mr Addington walked to the front of the room, undid his trousers, and began to simulate aggressive sexual intercourse with one of our decorative reindeer. Despite calls for him to sit down, he continued to touch and fondle the reindeer in an inappropriate manner, before breaking off one of it's antlers and hurling it at a team-mate, who was laughing."

The trouble then esculated when hotel catering manager Steven Aitken tried to calm Addington down. "The player just went beserk," said Mr Shaw. "Steven has a prosthetic left leg from the kneecap down, following an unfortunate gardening accident several years ago. To our horror and disgust, Mr Addington knocked Steven to the floor, pulled the leg from its socket, and then proceeded to beat him repeatedly around the head with it. I've never seen anything like it. Mansfield FC will be hearing from our lawyers in due course."

Mr Aitken and his leg were taken to the Queen Ann hospital in Nottingham where they were eventually reunited. Mr Aitken also received treatment for concussion and bruising, but his condition is said to be stable.

Mansfield FC today refused to comment on the allegations, but advised that a full statement will be made within the next 24 hours."

Well it's business as usual in Clifton! [Dec. 26th, 2004|02:56 pm]
Thought I'd be nice and spend some of xmas with my cats and San. Surprisingly enough (not) some scumbag from the area decided to break into my car demolishing the driver window with the biggest brick I've seen!! What a wonderful xmas pressie from the scummy fuckers in Clifton. I can't imagine why everyone doesn't want to live here!! Actually I can't imagine why a 2 bedroom shitty house is selling for £65000 in this scum infested area.

This xmas message was brought to you by a very very very very very pissed of Dracven.

Thanks and Ara news [Jul. 26th, 2004|11:08 am]

[music |Death of Superman Audio Play]

A big thanks to

Lee - You're much more useful as a friend than you give yourself credit for. You really helped Friday night.

Dave - Cheers mate the pizza helped, did you get the photo? I've not had a delivery receipt yet. It was late when I sent it Sat night/sun morning.

Helen the occasional LJ lurker - Our chat helped a great deal.

Geoff & Lucy - The Saturday trip helped muchly too. Had a good conversation with Geoff regarding live bands. I think I will be making more of an effort from now on.

The Ara crew, I felt so much better after Ara on Friday. Starting to get head sorted now but thanks to the above and Hazel and KT for the hugs it helped me start the journey.

The next Ara is a masked ball affair, I'm really looking forward to it. Not sure what/who to go as. The people that first popped up are either too cliched/too thin for me. Am now thinking of other things that are practical and hopefully interesting.

cheers guys.
